Union Membership

This graph shows that union membership in Australia continues to drop. This is partly due to Australia’s relative economic stability, as people forget how bad working conditions can get when employers have unilateral power. This article in The Vine offers an amusing defence for why young people should join unions. While unions have a bad rep, they protect your rights in an economic rationalist economy, where workers are asked to work longer hours for less pay and under precarious conditions.
