This is Matilda (Aheong) Li Keong, the first documented Chinese woman migrant in New Zealand Aotearoa.

She arrived with her husband and worked as an interpreter as well as educating new arrivals. Her children were all as highly accomplished as she, including the first Chinese-New Zealander University graduate. From the must-see exhibition, Being Chinese in Aotearoa: A Photographic Journey.
