The graph shows differences between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander prisoners on remand, compared with non-Indigenous prisoners. The most distinct difference is 42% of Aboriginal people are held for acts inteded to cause injury (compared to 24% non-Indigenous) and the next biggest charge for non-Indigenous peopel is illicit drug offences (19%) versus much fewer Aboriginal people (4%)
